Neighborhood in bloom!

When I lived on the East coast fall was always my favorite season – I loved the chill in the air, the beautiful autumn leaves, and the smell. But it’s very different in Chicago. The winters are long and cold, for one thing. And in our area were have mostly oak trees, which drop yellow and brown leaves. We just don’t have as many maple trees here, so we don’t get that splash of color nor the unique smell of Fall in New England.

All that to say, after years in Chicagoland, Spring has become my favorite season. I love coming out of hibernation, seeing the beautiful flowers in my garden and around the neighborhood! My walks were spectacular this week – here is a little glimpse:
