America Windows

America Windows by Marc Chagall. Art Institute of Chicago.

The plaque describes these pieces as being uniquely secular for Chagall, “merging symbols of American history, the Chicago skyline, and the arts”. The piece was dedicated to Chicago’s Mayor Richard J Daley, who was a great supporter of public art in the city.
