I am so grateful for this peaceful holiday at home with my family.  We are enjoying the new furniture in our cozy library, and relishing in the completion of a big puzzle and multiple Lego sets.  Meanwhile, I am surrounded by my favorite people and wonderful books, and kept warm by my new Totoro socks.  Best wishes for more of the good stuff in the new year, from our home to yours.

Lots of love from our nine year old, who was obviously in the holiday spirit today when he found these on the kitchen counter.  Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones, with all best wishes for 2017!

Sometimes

designaday:

Sometimes, design is personal.

Sometimes, the tools of design are a shovel and pruning shears.

Sometimes, the materials of design are water and stone.

Sometimes, design artifacts are edible.

Sometimes, design doesn’t need to be documented.

Sometimes, the designer is the user.

Sometimes, design is purely aesthetic.

Sometimes, design doesn’t matter.

Cultivating gratitude for all things isn’t so much a feeling as a decision. – Panache Desai
